The operation of computing systems under resource-scarcity, i.e., no electricity, is a challenging problem. Highly dependable systems that are tolerant to failures are required in this scenario. Furthermore, long-term operation under energy-scarcity requires highly energy-efficient systems.
In our research, we design systems, communication protocols, and tools, that we first validate, refine on testbeds, and finally put into our production systems. Our work covers all parts of the end-to-end data path that is involved until a sensor reading is stored in our data center.
