In order to support ongoing and future tasks of our projects, an adequate infrastructure to support the field work has been set up. This consists of a powerful WLAN access infrastructure that is shared with partners across multiple projects. This access network currently serves the areas Dirruhorn/Breithorn, Grabengufer, Randa Grossgufer, Matterhorn Hoernligrat and Matterhorn Hoernlihuette from an access point at the Klein Matterhorn. We use standard 802.11a WLAN equipment ruggedized for high-alpine use.
